The IT Assets Database was replaced by the IT Admins CMDB and is EOL / End of Life, no further development will be done on this project.
The phone module is rather big – it is actually divided in to three parts:
- Phone Models
- Phones – like assets – the individual phones
- Phones to extension to DID to employees
Now – you do not need to use all of them in combination – most interesting might be the Extension to DID tracking for just in case – but you can combine them completely and track each phone and DID and extension with the actual employee.
There is not much to explain here – it is kept rather simple but allows to document a lot. If you have multiple sites and phone switches, you might need additional fields that not yet exist. You could also abuse the description and notes fields for this purpose.
Of course, you can use this module to assign and track desk phones as well as mobile respective cell phones.
