The IT Assets Database was replaced by the IT Admins CMDB and is EOL / End of Life, no further development will be done on this project.
One of the daily challenges in IT is to make sure you have sufficient supplies when it comes to things like available phones, projector light bulbs, SSDs, RAM upgrades, spare disk drives for storages and empty backup tapes. The list can go on sheer endless. While I would not suggest to track every little piece you have flying around, it might make sense to track some of them.
Define a central place where the asset should reside and count them while using the report that shows while using the Print IT Supplies Form button.
First, of course, you need to enter the supplies you want to track. Do this by adding them and using the Supply config tab. This tab allows you to define many values like the location, part number and supplier as well as the minimum amount that should be available.
Once all of them are entered, you simple can click on them and change the Current amount on the default register card. This tracks who entered the data as well and then will do a calculation in the search mask.
To make sure you have enough supplies, simply search for anything over zero (>0) in the column “Back“. If a supply is in sufficient amount available, the column will be 0 for the according row.
